The couple raised their family in Penngrove, California, witnessing the successes of their children, including Fred Haslam, the lead developer of Sim City 2000. Gerald William Haslam died at age 84 from prostate cancer, leaving behind a legacy that reflects his dedication to capturing the spirit of California’s heartland through his writing and influence on those he encountered.
