Congressman Vince Fong, who represents California’s 20th Congressional District, has announced that his office is now accepting applications for nominations to the United States Service Academies for the Class of 2030. The service academies provide academic programs and military training to prepare future leaders.
To be eligible for a nomination, applicants must reside in California’s 20th Congressional District. Completed application packets need to be submitted by Monday, October 20, 2025, to Congressman Fong’s Bakersfield District Office at 9700 Stockdale Highway, Suite 300, Bakersfield, CA 93311.
“Service academy graduates are among the finest leaders in our nation,” said Congressman Fong. “It is an honor to nominate outstanding young men and women from our district who are committed to serving our country.”

Two informational forums will be held for students, parents, and educators interested in learning about the nomination process and opportunities at the academies. The first forum will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Kern County Board of Supervisors Chambers located at 1115 Truxtun Avenue in Bakersfield. The second forum is scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Clovis Unified Boardroom at 1680 David E. Cook Way in Clovis.
