Senator Shannon Grove and CityServe Network are organizing an Easter-themed event aimed at supporting foster and at-risk youth, as well as families in need in Bakersfield. The event, called Baskets, Bunnies & Blessings, is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It will be held indoors at CityServe Network’s location on F Street.
Children who attend will receive an Easter basket upon arrival and can visit booths hosted by community partners to collect treats and other items. There will also be opportunities for children to meet the Easter Bunny and take photos. In addition to these activities, families will have access to local organizations offering various resources. Special attention will be given to teens nearing the age when they leave the foster care system, with resources designed to help them transition.
“This event is really about loving on kids and families and reminding them that they are not alone,” said Senator Shannon Grove. “As a believer in Jesus Christ, Easter is a time to celebrate that He is risen, bringing hope, new life, and the promise that no one is forgotten or beyond His love. It is a blessing to see our community come together to bring joy, share resources, and show these families that they are seen, valued, and loved.”
The event is free of charge; however, registration is encouraged because supplies are limited. Families interested in attending can register in advance at bit.ly/BasketsBunniesBlessings or call 661-323-0443 for more information.
