U.S. Representative David Valadao, who serves California’s 22nd district, recently used his social media platform to address both infrastructure priorities and the contributions of his office interns.
On July 23, 2025, Valadao stated on X that “This week, I was proud to join @RepVinceFong in sending a letter to @USDOT, applauding the termination of funding for California’s High-Speed Rail project and urging them to redirect recovered funds to critical infrastructure priorities in the Central Valley and across CA.” In a follow-up post on the same day, he added: “This project has been overfunded and grossly mismanaged from the start, and it’s past time we refocus our efforts and resources on infrastructure projects our region needs.”
Two days later, on July 25, Valadao marked National Intern Day by recognizing his summer interns. He wrote: “This week we celebrated National Intern Day, and I wanted to thank my summer interns in Washington and my district offices for all their hard work serving CA-22! Their passion and dedication have made a real impact, and I know they will go on to do amazing things.”
Valadao has represented California’s 22nd district in Congress since 2021 after replacing TJ Cox. Before his tenure in Congress began in 2021, he served in the California State Assembly from 2010 to 2012. Born in Hanford, California in 1977, Valadao continues to reside there while serving as a federal legislator.
