Rep. David Valadao, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 22nd district since 2021, has recently posted a series of updates on his social media accounts addressing ongoing government issues and international events.
On October 6, 2025, Valadao informed constituents about the status of government services during a shutdown, stating, “The government is still shut down, but my office remains open and ready to assist! While some agencies will pause or delay processing, we can continue opening cases, submitting paperwork, and asking them for updates.”
The following day, on October 7, 2025, he marked the anniversary of a significant international event by posting: “Today marks two years since the brutal October 7th terrorist attack by Hamas. My thoughts are with the families who still grieve their loved ones, and I pray for the safe return of all those who continue to be held hostage.”
On October 8, 2025, Valadao commented on funding for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), noting a recent administrative action. He wrote: “It’s great to see the Admin found a solution to fund WIC for our vulnerable women, infants, and children, but we shouldn’t be in this situation in the first place. It’s past time for a few more Senate Democrats to put country over party and vote for the clean funding extension.”
Valadao has served in Congress since defeating TJ Cox in 2021. Prior to his congressional service, he was a member of the California State Assembly from 2010 to 2012. Born in Hanford in 1977, Valadao continues to reside in his hometown while representing his district.
