Rep. David Valadao, who represents California’s 22nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared several updates on his official social media account, ranging from constituent engagement during a government shutdown to condolences for a former vice president and commentary on legislative developments.
On November 4, 2025, Valadao posted about hosting local students at the Capitol amid federal budget gridlock: “It was great to show the Lemoore Future Farmers of America around the U.S. Capitol today! Welcoming constituents when they’re visiting DC is one of my favorite parts of my job, and I’m happy I was able to give them a tour even amid the ongoing government shutdown.”
Later that day, he expressed sympathy regarding national political news: “I’m saddened to hear about the passing of former Vice President Dick Cheney. Terra and I extend our deepest condolences to his family as they mourn the loss of a husband, father, grandfather, and true statesman.” This message followed reports on the death of Dick Cheney, who served as vice president from 2001 to 2009.
On November 5, 2025, Valadao addressed state policy alongside other California representatives: “Today I released the following statement alongside @RepLaMalfa, @RepMcClintock, @RepVinceFong, @JayObernolte, @RepYoungKim, @KenCalvert, and @repdarrellissa regarding the disappointing passage of Prop 50. Read our full statement below:”
Valadao has served in Congress since defeating TJ Cox in 2021 and previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2010 to 2012. Born in Hanford in 1977, he continues to reside there while representing constituents at the federal level.
