Rep. David Valadao, who represents California’s 22nd congressional district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several policy issues on July 18, 2025, through a series of posts on his social media account.
In one post, Valadao emphasized the importance of financial privacy and legislative action. On July 18, he wrote: “Americans deserve financial privacy, and it’s long past time we put real guardrails in place to protect that right. Today, I was proud to vote for 3 bills that reaffirm our commitment to free markets and individual freedom.”
Later the same day, Valadao commented on high-speed rail funding decisions by the Department of Transportation (DOT). He stated: “High-speed rail has been an expensive failure with no viable path forward from the start, and I applaud DOT for refusing to keep funding this track to nowhere. Now we can finally shift focus to investing in infrastructure that actually benefits the Central Valley.” This reflects ongoing debates over transportation investments in California.
In another post on July 18, Valadao referenced federal support for after-school programs in his district. He said: “I’m glad to see the administration concluded their programmatic review of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers. These resources are crucial for CA-22 after school programs, and I urge them to release the remaining Department of Education funds.”
Valadao has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after replacing TJ Cox and previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2010 to 2012. Born in Hanford, California in 1977, he continues to reside there while representing his district at the federal level.
