Rep. David Valadao, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 22nd district, recently highlighted new initiatives and community engagement efforts in a series of posts on his social media account.
On July 28, 2025, Valadao shared news about a local business recognition: “Today, my staff presented a congressional certificate to Kebab City, a new Mediterranean restaurant in Hanford. It’s always great to see new small businesses opening in CA-22, and I’m looking forward to their delicious contributions to our community.”
Two days later, on July 30, 2025, Valadao announced the introduction of bipartisan legislation aimed at supporting local agriculture and food access: “I’m proud to join @RepBresnahan, @chelliepingree, and @RepRileyNY to introduce the Local Farmers Feeding our Communities Act. This bipartisan bill connects our farmers directly with local families and food banks to deliver healthy, homegrown food where it’s needed most.” In a subsequent post that same day he added details about how the proposed agreements would function: “Through these agreements, funds would be used to purchase foods like meat, seafood, milk, cheese, eggs, fruit, and poultry. This is an effort that invests in our farmers and communities, and I’m proud to stand with my colleagues in support.
Valadao has served as the representative for California’s 22nd District since 2021 after replacing TJ Cox. He previously served in the California State Assembly from 2010 to 2012. Born in Hanford in 1977 and currently residing there at age 46, Valadao continues active engagement with both legislative efforts affecting agriculture and recognition of local enterprises.
