Cost of college went up for all students at the Milan Institute-Bakersfield West

Tuition and fees rose 18.6 percent for 2018-19 at the Milan Institute-Bakersfield West, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

California students paid $16,094 to attend the two-year private for-profit institution this year – $2,524 more than the $13,570 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 82 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 57 students received grants or scholarships totaling $293,151 and 65 students took out student loans totaling more than $529,933.

Including all undergraduates (79), 65 students used grants or scholarships totaling $293,151, and 73 students took out $529,933 in federal student loans.
