Genbusiness011

Seven professional licenses were issued in Bakersfield during the third quarter of 2020, according to California’s Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA). In the previous quarter, there were four licenses issued, marking a 75 percent increase quarter over quarter.

Los Angeles had the most professional licenses issued in the area with 18.

The DCA is composed of several agencies, bureaus, and commissions that influence business growth and job creation through regulation. The agency has roots that date back to 1876 when California passed the Medical Practice Act of 1876. Today the agency issues more than 280 license types including certificates, registrations, and permits.
