CARSON CITY: City of Carson Inviting Participants to Serve on Commissions, Committees, and Boards

Carson

Carson City issued the following announcement on Nov. 23

The City of Carson is inviting residents and members of the public to participate in serving on a commission, committee, or board. Carson’s advisory commissions, committees and boards provide many opportunities to become involved in the City.

As an advisory body, commissions, committees and boards make recommendations to the City Council. Commissioners focus within their scope of responsibilities and recommend action and alternatives for City Council’s consideration. Commissions act as channels of communication among City government, the general public, and interest groups. They assist in providing direction toward achievement of citywide goals and objectives and balance community wants with municipality responsibilities and resources.

The City of Carson is seeking leaders in the community to serve on its commissions, committees and boards policies. If you or someone you know in the community is passionate and motivated towards these same ends, the City of Carson would love to tap on your energy and expertise.

Members of each commission are appointed by the City Council from a pool of applicants. The commitment of citizens that serve on the Commissions, Committees, and Boards help make the City of Carson a great place to live. For questions or more information, please contact the City Clerk’s Office at CityClerk@carson.ca.us or call (310) 952-1720.

Most commissions, committees and boards meet a minimum of once a month. Application and complete information about commissions, committees and board can be found on http://ci.carson.ca.us/government/CCBoard.aspx.
