On Friday, Jan. 22, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 19-year old man from Wasco at around 10:30 a.m.
The suspect, who has been identified as Daniel Malanche, was arrested by deputies from the Wasco Substation who were investigating a shooting that had occurred days earlier at the 1700 block of Poplar Avenue.
Malanche, who was booked at the Kern County Jail, faces felony firearms charges, participation in street gang charges, an active felony, and misdemeanor drug charges. A loaded firearm was located by the deputies when Malanche was arrested.
