California State University, Bakersfield is holding its first in-person `Runner Nights event since 2019 this month.
Campus Programming is hosting a concert featuring the multi-platinum artist TINASHE at 8:30 p.m. on May 19 at the Icardo Center. The concert is open to all currently enrolled students, alumni from the classes of fall 2019 through fall 2021, as well as CSUB faculty and staff.
“We are beyond excited to be bringing back in-person `Runner Nights this semester and even more excited to have TINASHE perform. This is the first woman headliner since the 2016 Runner Nights Concert!” said Campus Programming Coordinator Afaf Aldhulay. “We hope that everyone takes advantage of this exclusive performance for our `Runners.”
Aldhulay said CSUB alum Brittainee Brown will open the show alongside Bakersfield native and top 8 Verzuz DJ competitor DJ Ash B.
Tickets are $20 for students and alumni and $40 for faculty and staff. Click here to purchase tickets. Current students and staff are required to show a CSUB ID for entry while alumni must bring a matching photo ID.
Free parking will be available in lots H and I. The doors open at 7:30 p.m.
Last year’s `Runner Nights concert was held virtually and was a week-long event called `Runner Nights Virtual Music Fest that featured several performers. The last in-person concert in 2019 featured the artist Tyga.
