Deputies with the Crime Impact Team have been searching for a male and female adult responsible for an incident involving identity theft. The pair reportedly purchased approximately $500 worth of merchandise at a business in the mall utilizing a stolen credit card.
Detectives were able to identify the suspects thanks to the help of the public. CIT deputies conducted surveillance and located the suspects at a hotel in Chatsworth where they were successfully apprehended.
During a search of the female’s vehicle parked at the location, deputies located a large amount of mail and other items named to other parties, other than the suspects, as well as stocks of blank checks used to create fictitious checks. The male was also identified to have two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
They were both booked into the SCV Sheriff’s Station and remain in custody at this time.
