Gravity Tobacco #4

It was a busy holiday weekend here in Kern County. 

Here are some incidents you may have missed:

On July 3, 2022, at 4:49 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the Gravity Tobacco #4 on the 300 block of Roberts Lane for a victim of a shooting.   When deputies arrived, they found a 36-year-old male adult suffering from several gunshot wounds.  The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The suspect fled the business eastbound on Roberts Lane in an unknown type vehicle.  The investigation is ongoing.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kern County Sheriff’s Office at (661)861-3110 or the Secret Witness Line at (661)322-4040.

On July 3, 2022, at 7:34 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of Oregon Street for a victim of a stabbing.  When deputies arrived, they found a 32-year-old male adult with a major injury to his right hand.  The victim reported a 34-year-old male adult attacked him with a machete.  The victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to live.  The suspect was identified but was not located.  

On July 5, 2022, at 2:27 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Washington Avenue for a domestic violence investigation where the suspect was armed with a handgun.  When deputies arrived, they saw the male suspect who was identified as a 17-year-old male juvenile.  The juvenile fled on foot south on California Street and was armed with a handgun.  The juvenile was arrested in the area of California Street and Decatur Street.  The handgun was located in the backyard on the 200 block of Washington Avenue.  The investigation revealed the suspect was involved in an argument with his girlfriend, a 15-year-old female juvenile.  

On July 5, 2022, at 1:58 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 4000 block of Balboa Street in Lake Isabella for a victim of a stabbing.  When deputies arrived, they found a 59-year-old male adult suffering from stab wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital is expected to live.  The investigation revealed the suspect a 58-year-old male adult went to the victim’s house to discuss his rental agreement.  While at the residence the suspect attacked the male victim with a knife and fled.  Deputies located and arrested the suspect without further incident.
