Upcoming Corrections Officer CORE Course

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking student cadets for our upcoming Corrections Officer CORE Course. The STC Detentions CORE Academy is scheduled for October of 2022. The CORE Academy will run Tuesday through Friday from 7:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., at the Kern Regional Training Center, located at 962 Norris Road, Bakersfield, CA 93308.

Applicants must be able to pass each process in the Academy Evaluation and Selection process, conducted by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, which includes:

• STC CORE Entry Level Exam

• Personal History Statement

• Oral Interview

Graduates from the CORE Academy will be eligible to apply for lateral entry Detentions Deputy positions with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office and Correctional Officer positions with other law enforcement agencies within the State of California.

Tues., August 16, 2022 @ 6 p.m.

Sat., August 20, 2022 @ 8 a.m.

Tues., August 23, 2022 @ 6 p.m.

Sat., August 27, 2022 @ 8 a.m.                                

Tues., August 30, 2022 @ 5 p.m.

Tues., September 6, 2022 @ 6 p.m.

Sat., September 10, 2022 @ 8 a.m.

Tues., September 13, 2022 @ 5 p.m. 

*INTERVIEW DATES*

Will be scheduled upon return of the completed Personal History Statement.
