Suspect Began Walking Towards Them

On August 6, 2022, at about 3:18 a.m., Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 9900 block of Elmco Avenue in Lamont, CA to the report of an attempted robbery.  When they arrived, they spoke with the victim in the driveway of his residence.  While they were talking to the victim the suspect began walking towards them.  The suspect fired two shots in their direction from 150 yards away.  The deputies located the suspect attempting to enter a vehicle on the 10000 block of Elmco Avenue.  The suspect resisted arrest, however, was taken into custody.  A firearm was located on the suspect along with a high-capacity magazine.  The suspect was booked into Kern County’s Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility for attempted murder, robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and other firearm related charges.
