New 9/11 Patch

Kern County Sheriff’s Office will add two new patch options for Uniformed Personnel

We are pleased to reveal the design for our new 9/11 patch. It features the twin towers that double as the number 11 as well as the U.S. flag in the shape of a pentagon that is representative of the U.S. Department of Defense Headquarters, The Pentagon. Flight 93 is an homage to those who tragically lost their lives that day. This patch is our commitment to never forget the horrific events that transpired that day. The new 9/11 patch is to commemorate all who lost their lives during the September 11 attacks. This patch will be an option to be worn on the left sleeve by our Deputies, Detention Deputies and Sheriff Aide’s effective September 10, 2022. As an organization, we commit to remembering the sacrifices and devastating losses by wearing it on our sleeves, quite literally. Our gratitude goes to the armed forces, all public servants and community members whose bravery we will never forget.

In addition, we are also excited to share our Breast Cancer Awareness patch.  This patch, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, will be an additional option for our uniformed personnel during the month of October annually in order to raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. According to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (bcrf.org) there are more than 3.8 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S. We stand by those affected by loss and those who have been affected by the personal battles of a breast cancer diagnosis.

These uniform patch options not only raise awareness, but they bring light to impactful causes that are near and dear to KCSO as an organization. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office will be revealing other exciting community outreach and support ideas in the near future.
