It can harm your health.Floodwater may contain toilet waste, bad germs, hazardous chemicals, heavy or sharp objects, downed power lines that can electrically charge the water, and live or dead animals.Right now, Kern County Public Health is assessing hazards within our community’s flooded areas. For more information about how to stay safe during a flood, please visit kernpublichealth.com and click on “Flood Safety.”As a reminder after an evacuation, only return home when authorities say it is safe. Currently, all evacuation orders are still in place.All residents are encouraged to sign up for Ready Kern to stay up-to-date with the latest information. Please visit kerncountyfire.org to enroll.
