Vince Fong, U.S. Representative for California’s 20th congressional district, highlighted a range of recent initiatives and recognitions in a series of posts on his official Twitter account between May 11 and May 12, 2026.
On May 11, Fong shared resources aimed at supporting expecting mothers and families. He wrote: “Fantastic resources for expecting moms! With the Working Families Tax Cuts that boosted the Child Tax Credit to $2,200, and initiatives like @TrumpAccounts that allow parents to build wealth for their kids’ future, @POTUS is supporting American families like never before.”
The following day, during National Police Week, Fong announced his recognition as a Congressional Retail Crime Fighter by the National Retail Federation (NRF). In his post dated May 12, he stated: “This Police Week , I’m proud to be recognized as a Congressional Retail Crime Fighter by @NRFnews for supporting the Combating Organized Retail Crime Act. I’ll always back legislation that supports law enforcement and protects our businesses and communities.” The Combating Organized Retail Crime Act is designed to provide additional tools and resources to law enforcement agencies in order to address organized retail crime.
Later on May 12, Fong celebrated academic achievement within his district. He posted: “It was an honor to recognize and celebrate our outstanding Congressional High School Merit Award winners throughout CA-20 for their academic excellence, leadership, and service to our community. Nominated by each graduating senior, we also celebrated the incredible educators”
The Child Tax Credit referenced by Fong was increased under recent federal policy changes intended to provide greater financial support for families with children. National Police Week is observed annually in May to honor law enforcement officers across the United States.
