Vince Fong, U.S. Representative for California’s 20th congressional district, recently shared updates on social media regarding community events and economic development projects.
On August 3, 2025, Fong posted a birthday message to the Vice President of the United States: “Join me in wishing @VP a happy birthday! https://t.co/5po3eVG0L4”.
Two days later, on August 5, 2025, Fong visited the construction site of the future Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon. He expressed gratitude to tribal leaders and project officials in his post: “(1/2) Thank you to Tejon Indian Tribe Chairman Octavio Escobedo, fellow tribal leaders, and Chris Kelley, President of the future Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon, for welcoming me to the project’s construction site! https://t.co/Dr0IF43r1a”.
In a follow-up tweet on the same day, Fong highlighted the anticipated benefits of the new development: “(2/2) This historic hospitality investment, slated to open later this year, will bring new jobs, increase tourism, and significantly strengthen our regional economy. Exciting times are ahead for our community as we prepare to welcome this transformative project!”
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon is expected to have a notable impact on Kern County’s economy by creating employment opportunities and attracting visitors. The project has been developed in partnership with the Tejon Indian Tribe and is scheduled for completion within the year.
