On October 13, 2025, Fong commemorated the Navy’s milestone, writing, “Happy 250th Birthday to the United States Navy! We salute the brave men and women upholding Honor, Courage, and Commitment — especially those serving at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake and Naval Air Station Lemoore in our district. Later that day, Fong addressed the return of hostages previously held by Hamas. He stated, “Today, 20 brave hostages who survived captivity in the hands of Hamas terrorists for over two years are finally returning to the arms of their families. This comment referenced ongoing international efforts to secure hostage releases in the Middle East.
On October 14, 2025, Fong shared his experience welcoming veterans visiting the nation’s capital. He wrote, “A wonderful morning hosting our Central Valley Honor Flight in Washington, D.C.! It’s always an honor to welcome our nation’s heroes to the Capitol https://t.co/nsKwtKNXms”. The Honor Flight program brings veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit war memorials in their honor.
The United States Navy was established in October 1775 and is marking its 250th year in 2025. Both Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake and Naval Air Station Lemoore are located within California’s Central Valley region, a key part of Fong’s district. The Honor Flight Network is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transporting America’s veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit memorials dedicated to honoring those who have served.
